Etisalat Academy Organizes Government Sector Competitiveness Conference

Dubai, 14th June 2010: Etisalat Academy, in cooperation with UAE Ministry of Environment and Water announces a conference aimed at reinforcing and promoting competitiveness across the government sector. 

Under the Patronage of H.H Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Etisalat Academy today announced that it will organise the ‘1st Seminar on the Future Vision of the Government’, which will kick off under the theme of ‘Reinforcing the Concept of Competitiveness across the UAE Public Sector’. The seminar will take place on 16th – 17th June 2010, at Etisalat Academy – Dubai. The seminar is organized by the Etisalat Academy in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water.

His Excellency Dr. Rashed Ahmad Bin Fahd, Minister of Environment and Water, will deliver the keynote speech at the seminar, through which he will discuss endorsement of the perception of competitiveness in across the public sector in the UAE.

The seminar aims at discussing some of the most important practices and global studies in competitive organisational development across the public sector, the challenges which face these organizations and how to facilitate the obstacles and find the required solutions.

This seminar comes within a series of three seminars planned during the months of June, September and November 2010. The three events will discuss different aspects of the future vision of the Government and they aim to support the Government approaches in developing the public sector and providing the required capabilities to achieve the government strategies that aim to obtain organisational and economic excellence as well as developing the national business leaders.

Mariam Mohammed, Director of Business Development at the Etisalat Academy and Conference Director, explained: “Each of the three seminars which will discuss a different theme, in this week’s seminar we are going to discuss reinforcing the concept of competitiveness across the UAE public sector. In September we are going to discuss knowledge economy - the theory and the application, while in November we will discuss the strategic leadership development best practice.

"I would like to invite all the public organizations and departments as well as the human resources departments in the UAE to participate in this series of events and benefit from this significant opportunity to network with thought leaders in competitiveness and organisational excellence.”

During the first day the seminar will discuss a number of important topics, including how to boosting competitiveness in the government sector within the country, best competitiveness practices, the importance of robust leadership in building and promoting competitiveness, business excellence, as well as competitiveness benchmarking.  The second day will host six workshops which will discuss leadership excellence, business excellence, strategic planning excellence, human resources excellence, customer centric excellence, and innovation excellence.

The event will be attended by government officials, organisational performance managers, marketing and corporate communications managers, training managers and directors of administrative development, human resources and human capital development managers, as well as business leaders and executives.
